There is something special that happens when women get together. An unseen magic is created. When we’re around other women, we can remove all the hats we wear in daily life (mom, wife, cook,…) and just simply be. Most of us have forgotten what that feels like and when we are reminded, we shine. We bloom.
Imagine a room full of women with the common desire of finding God’s purpose in their lives and of celebrating His beautiful plan for us. This will be just part of the magic of the True Beauty Bloom conference held on May 2-3 at Cedar Park Christian Church in Bothell, and I can’t wait.
I had the opportunity to interview Carrie Abbott this week (the founder and president of the Legacy Institute). She is a warm, intelligent and passionate advocate for women; not in the “worldly, in your face, men are horrible” way, but in the “this is God’s beautiful plan for women” way. Pained by the lies that women of all ages are being told about who they “should be”, Carrie feels called to provide Biblical truths to middle school girls and middle-agers alike.
With that in mind, Carrie created True Beauty Bloom, a conference that teaches women of all ages to live in agreement with God. The seminar will be run much like Carrie runs her own life: fast-paced, stimulating, intelligent and entertaining, thought provoking, funny, touching and real.
Carrie has gathered a stellar group of women to speak, each one an expert in her field and each one a shining example of “blooming” for God. Even though any average planner would be content with the amazing panel she has planned for us, Carrie will be adding women with incredible stories to share right up until the conference starts. We are in for a ride.
Whether you are twelve or eighty, Carrie has planned an experience tailored just for you. From being bullied at school to breast cancer, all topics of importance to women and girls will be addressed with a Biblical perspective. You will leave feeling enlightened and ready to celebrate your unique position in the world as a daughter of our King!
*I’ll be there and I’m bringing three of my favorite women (ages 14, 15 and 31). Come by and say, “Hi.”
