If you ever want to be humbled, overwhelmed and feel completely out of your league, have a family! In today’s culture, with activities pulling at us and information hitting us from every angle, it is hard to take care of the basics, let alone deal with the stress and difficulties that come with family relationships.
Divorces are on the rise, kids are becoming more challenging. These are tough days for a family to survive in, let alone thrive in!
However, there’s good news: Where you are weak, God is strong. Where you are incapable, God is capable. Where you are insufficient, God is sufficient. No matter where you are, there is no part of your living or moving that God is not sufficient to help you in… and this includes your family. I can say this with confidence because I know this firsthand. I know I don’t have the resources I need. I know I don’t have the wisdom I need. I know I don’t have the energy I need. And I know I don’t have the love I need, but God does! And that is what we are going to discover in this 10-part series called, Building A Better Family.
Over the next 10 weeks we will look at the goodness and the power of the gospel as the centerpiece of our families. From there we will see the importance of confessing our weakness, communicating honestly, understanding one another and seeing how everyone can win. We will also be looking at how the gospel changes parenting, and how dealing with our kids’ hearts is so much more important than simply dealing with their actions.
If you would like to build a better family, check back each week for another update, or get it live each Sunday morning at Redeemer Church in Lynnwood. We would love to have you visit, and I am sure you will find it helpful and encouraging. Get more information and even listen to weekly messages by visiting RedeemerLynnwood.com.
I look forward to sharing with you over the next 10 weeks!
