The holiday season is here and it is time to make our homes festive. While you are out and about shopping this weekend, stop by and pick up these supplies to make this burlap wreath that is versatile and can be used for many holidays throughout the year.
I got all my supplies from hobby lobby. However, if you don’t have a hobby lobby nearby, Michael’s or Ben Franklin will work. This took me about an hour to complete.
You will need :
Anywhere from 12-36 feet of burlap. I used 18 feet. It really depends how big your base is and how fluffy you want your wreath to be. (side note: it helped me to cut the burlap into 8 inch strips)
Wire wreath base(multiple sizes depending how large you want your wreath. I chose a 16 inch base)
Decorations of your choosing (I like to switch mine depending on the season.)
How to :
Begin by rolling or gathering the end of a burlap strip and weave it through the wires of the wreath base. This will help keep the burlap in place while you continue to weave.
Pull a loop of burlap through wreath slats and fluff it out to the size you want your wreath to be. Repeat by pulling next loop through the next slat over until the base is completely hidden.
Slide the loops firmly together, making room for more loops.
Adjust the loops to make it all even.
My secret about the bow….I bought it pre-made at Hobby Lobby. Some of you may be awesome at making bows so have some fun with it!
Decorate how you choose! Avoid using glue so you can re-use throughout the years.
