24/7 we go around being mistake makers, don’t we?! I don’t mean big huge messy mistakes, but just little ones along the way. Day in and day out. We forget to wash junior’s favorite shirt and he cries. Maybe we went to the store to pick up a very important certain something and come home with everything BUT the item we went for.
We simply can’t take life too terribly serious. After all, Moms are only human.
Mothers have a BIG job. We wear so many hats that sometimes we simply forget what hat we have on!
The biggest mistake every Mother makes however, is the one where she thinks she is a failure. That she isn’t good enough to do the Mom job.
We look around at other Mothers and THEY SEEM to have it all together. We look at our child lying on the floor in tears because of who knows what, and we can’t calm them down and we think “what’s wrong with me?”. Our child gets in trouble at school or on the playground and we wonder why OUR CHILD is in trouble and not so and so down the street.
We wonder, “what have I done wrong?”
Some days we love the Mom job and other days we hate it. Today I hate it. I want everything to always be smooth sailing and life simply isn’t going to be like that.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Big trouble, little trouble…God’s Word is clear…there will be trouble. But notice the end of this verse!
“But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
If we focus on our children and their imperfections and problems and think that our value and worth as Mothers comes from these little/big peeps, rather than in the One who has created us…we will lose heart as a Mom.
I always say that God gave me so many children because I have so many imperfections that need to be “smoothed” out. Polished like a pearl.
Today is one of those days where I face God and say…
“I am not enough!”
Yes the biggest mistake every Mom makes is thinking she is a failure at some time or another and God just smiles and says…
Stand Firm Mother (2 Thessalonians 2)
13 But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. 14 He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.
16 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, 17 encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.
Some Bible Verses I’m claiming today with free printable…just for you, Mom!
Again, let’s not get our value from other people, including our children. When they misbehave it does not mean that we are failures, it simply means that THEY are human beings, just like us, made in the image of God but also being an imperfect sinner.
Give them grace and give yourself grace. Nothing lasts forever and we are not in a sprint but a marathon. Feelings aren’t facts…Rest in the Lord, because it’s long road ahead…don’t wear yourself out yet…Good days are right around the corner. Definitely reminding myself about all this today! LOL
You were made for this Mom job.
May the Lord Bless You Today!
