Ever wondered what a day looks like for a stay-at-home mom who’s also a college student?
Well, here’s your answer!
Welcome to a day with me!
Anywhere between 6:30 and 7:30 I get up, it just depends on the day of the week because on Wednesdays our district has late start! But I try really hard to get up before the kids do and spend some time in the Word with God. It doesn’t always pan out this way, but I try! However, to keep things less confusing (even though I filmed my video on a Wednesday!) I’m going to do my times based on a normal day of the week.
This is when my boys get up! They have a rule that they aren’t allowed out of their room until the white noise timer shuts off, and on weekdays this turns off at 7:15.
Boys are getting ready for the day, my oldest is getting ready for school. Breakfast, teeth-brushing, getting dressed, etc.
Bus comes and my oldest is off to school! This is usually when my two younger sons get busy playing and/or watching a show as I settle down to do school. Once a week at this time, we all hop in the car and head to our chiropractor appointment.
This is usually when we get home from wherever we are, or I’m done with school for the morning. Sometimes my middle son and I will play a game, sometimes we read books or watch a show together. Then I get started on lunch and start getting everyone ready for naps!
I get my middle son down for a nap. Then I nurse the baby and lay him down as well! After that, it’s usually my time to get to work on the house. Laundry, dishes, vacuuming, etc. If I manage to get that done while everyone is still asleep, I’ll try to take some time to relax or even catch a quick nap myself.
This is generally when kiddos start waking up (if my middle son, who is two, has actually slept at all!) and we just hang out together!
My oldest son gets home on the bus around this time, and we have a snack.
I get started on dinner while the kiddos play. Once we eat, it’s reading time!
After we have done our reading and have eaten, this is the time that I get the kids into their pajamas and get their teeth brushed. Once they finish that, they get to watch a show together before bed. A couple of nights a week, this time is replaced with bath time.
Bed time! This involves praying, singing a song of choice for either boy, and then lights out. I try to get the baby down at the same time, but sometimes he’s up for a while nursing or just hanging out for some one on one time with his mom.
Usually at this time I get the kitchen cleaned up, finish any laundry, and then take some time to relax! I’ll catch up on TV, read, take a bath, or something for myself.
Around this time, my husband gets home from work (he works 3-15’s, 6AM to 9PM) and we get ready for bed. We try to take some time to chat and connect since we spend all day apart, but sometimes we are just so tired that we end up just crashing and settling in to get some rest before another busy day!
Well, there you have it! It’s busy around here, but I sure love my busy, crazy life!
