And she gave birth to her firstborn, a Son. She wrapped Him in swaddling cloths and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:7
There was no room for Jesus at the Inn in Bethlehem, but is there a room for Jesus in your heart today?
Sometimes we get so busy and overwhelmed with planning Christmas parties, dinners, travel itineraries and all the festivities that come with this season that there is no room for Jesus. If we do not take care, it is very likely that we crowd our hearts and lives with so many things leaving no room for Jesus, the very reason why there is a Christmas to begin with. Is your schedule so packed and busy that there is no time to withdraw and reflect on the reason for the season?
Jesus is the reason for the season. If you are wondering what exactly this means, it means that God loved us so much even though we were separated from Him by sin, He still sent His Son to die on our behalf and to pay our penalty for sin, in full, once and for all. To let that love of God engulf us. To acknowledge and be aware of and be grateful for that Lord that made God to send Jesus and that made Jesus to come to earth, to be born a man and to die to save us. That is what it means to focus on Jesus as the reason for the season. Oh, what manner of love is this that Jesus would lay down his life willingly and that for anyone that would believe in Him and accept Him as their lord and savior will not perish as we all deserve because of sin but will enjoy eternal life, washed and purified by the precious blood of Jesus.
“For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16

Pamela D McAdams
This is the reason for Christmas. To celebrate Jesus and all He means to humanity. This is the reason for the season. Let us think on it, let us talk about it with our loved ones and let us be grateful for it.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish and sustain it with justice and righteousness from that time and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of Hosts will accomplish this. Isaiah 9:6-7
If the Inn keeper had known that it was the King of Kings, Emmanuel, Jesus that was seeing a room, I’m sure he would have given up the Presidential Suite! DO you know who is seeking room in your heart today? It is the creator of the universe, the Almighty God!
Jesus Says in Revelation 3:20 “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.”
Make room for Jesus in your heart, life and family today. Open the door and let Him in. He will not force His way into your life, He will not force Himself onto your schedule but patiently, longingly and lovingly waits for you to make room for Him and let Him in. How do we let Him in? By acknowledging Him in all we do, by spending time with Him through reading the Bible, alone and with family and friends. By creating time to pray to Him and listen to Him speak into our hearts and lives. That is how we make room for Jesus and that is how to open the door of our lives to Jesus.
There was no room for Jesus at the Inn, but we can make room for Jesus in our lives today.
Yes! We enjoy precious time with friends and family; we make those delicious meals and share them with loved ones but as we do all this, we remember that it is in celebration of Jesus who is the reason for the season. Let us not remove Jesus from being the centre and the reason for the festivities but let us shine a light on Jesus the savior of the World.
During the Christmas season we celebrate who Jesus is. The Messiah. His birth, death on the cross and Resurrection to eternal life are all in fulfillment of God’s divine plan to bring us back into His loving arms. We celebrate and rejoice because this divine plan of God was a great success!!!! Rejoice the Lord is King! Hallelujah!
Don’t be afraid! I am here with good news for you, which will bring great joy to all the people. This very day in David’s town your Savior was born—Christ the Lord! And this is what will prove it to you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Suddenly a great army of heaven’s angels appeared with the angel, singing praises to God: “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom He is pleased!” Luke 2:10-14
