As warm sunny days turn into shorter, rainier days and falling leaves, I am reminded that life too has changing seasons. The trees that were once busting with a lush green coat are now dressed in beautiful hues of brown, yellow and orange leaves that are falling and will soon be stripped bare in preparation for winter.
To quote the hymn writer:
Through all the changing scenes of life,
in trouble and in joy,
the praises of my God shall still
my heart and tongue employ.
Of his deliv’rance I will boast,
till all that are distressed,
from my example comfort take
and lay their griefs to rest.
If you are currently experiencing a tough or challenging season of life, take heart for this too shall pass. Just as surely as a cold dark winter gives way to a bright and lush spring, year after year without fail; the hard times will give way too.
Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning. Psalm 30:5
Be encouraged that God will not leave you helpless. He knew you would have to walk through this season and already prepared the most suitable of helpers to guide and strengthen you. That Helper is the Holy Spirit. The same Holy Spirit with the power to raise Jesus from the season of death is with you right now to help you and deliver you out of every trying or challenging season you face.
And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever— John 14:16

Not only has God sent you the most capable, suitable, powerful and loving Helper, God has also equipped you with all that you need to navigate this season. Tap into the resources He has made available to assist you so that you will emerge victorious and better than before. Tap into faith, joy, trust, encouragement, patience, long suffering and hope.
By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the One who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence. 2 Peter 1:3
On the other hand, if you are currently experiencing a season of grace, joy and fulfilment, do not waste it. Like the wise ant that stores up food during the bountiful harvests of summer in preparation for the coming winter, build up your own store houses through Bible reading, prayer and being plugged into a Bible believing and Bible preaching Church community. So that when tough and trying seasons come, you are built up and prayed up and surrounded by a God-family to face them with faith, courage and a calm assurance that the season will pass, and you will not be consumed by it.
Let the [spoken] word of Christ have its home within you [dwelling in your heart and mind—permeating every aspect of your being] as you teach [spiritual things] and admonish and train one another with all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Colossians 3:16
Therefore, encourage and comfort one another and build up one another, just as you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Everything around us is constantly changing. The weather, the seasons, technology, world systems, popular culture, dress code, laws… Jesus is the only constant and unchanging One that we can truly rely on, look to and anchor our lives on. Jesus is the truth and how glad I am that the truth never changes, never gets watered down, never evolves of transforms to fit the current or most popular narrative.
Jesus Christ is [eternally changeless, always] the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8

Find your identity, self worth, foundation and anchor in Jesus, because He will never change. Jobs will come and go, children grow up and move out, friends will relocate, Church buildings will close but Jesus is constant, ever present, never changing, always true and always reliable. He does not turn back on His promises or fail to fulfil them.
God is not a man, so He does not lie. He is not human, so He does not change His mind. Has He ever spoken and failed to act? Has He ever promised and not carried it through? Numbers 23:19
In an un-certain and constantly changing world, take refuge in the One who never changes. Aren’t you glad that it is He and not any human or artificial being who holds the future? God is unchanging and eternally reliable and all powerful. His plans never fail, and His plans for you are good. Trust in Him always.
For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the LORD, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
