Beautiful September has arrived which means the kids are back at school. They’re figuring out the new routine, making new friends, and hopefully your family is settling in now that the first few weeks are underway. Most of us have some adorable First Day pictures of our children looking so much older than the year before, standing tall in their new backpacks and back-to-school shoes. This school bus picture frame craft is the perfect way to display those priceless photos! Not only is it extra fun for kids in younger grades to do a school bus themed craft this month, but it’s a sweet way to remember their first day for a little while. It makes a great keepsake, too!
Here’s what you need to get started:
- 8 jumbo craft sticks
- Silver, black, and yellow paint (I used Crayola)
- Paintbrushes
- Red and orange craft jewels (or make a dot with Elmer’s glue and cover with red and orange glitter)
- Paper plate
- Tacky glue
- Sharpie and paper for the little license plate
- Scissors
- 4×6 photo of your child
- Scotch tape or glue dots

Directions:
Pour a small amount of each paint onto the paper plate.
Paint six craft sticks yellow, one black, and one silver. Allow them to dry.

Glue the craft sticks into a bus by placing two yellows down vertically. Then, horizontally glue the silver stick on the bottom and another yellow stick along the top(forming a square).

Glue the remaining yellow craft sticks onto the frame. One more on top and two on bottom.

Cut the black stick in half. Glue each “wheel” to the back of the craft sticks.
